Minutus

Has any of the group experience of going to a scene of disaster and
assisting. Is it hard for homeopathy to be validated. At a centre where
bush fire victims were gathered I found it quite difficult but was able
to assist with a few distraught children. I talked to St John's
ambulance folk but no interest was shown.

MSF is not interested as far as I gathered a few years ago in
homeopathy. Also they require a commitment of about 6 months. They do
a terrific job setting up infrastructure as well as treating.

In India, there is always scope for helping people with homeopathy if
one had the time and inclination to spend a couple of months in a
badly affected place. Poeple are open to it, and if one helps heal
just a few people, word of mouth travels very quickly. BE ready for
long lines and quick leynote prescriptions, then.

I'd suggest anyone wnating to do so - got to Nagapattinam or
Velankanni Shrine Church, both places that have been very badly
affected, are close to each other. These two towns are close to each
other and there is adequate, cheap staying accomodation there.
Interact directly with the villagers through an interpreter (even at
the local Church or convent school) in NAgapattinam. Possibly at
temples as well.
Go through the Rector of Velanganni Church (I could give
reccomendations though people I know) and you could be a tremendous
help there.

India does not have any rigid official restrictions and any help is
welcome. Carry your remedies with you when you go there.

There is a parallel group, Homeopaths without Borders, but I'm not sure how
much experience they've had in disaster relief or how active they are.

Unfortunately, where the devastation is so total, those who come to give aid
can become part of the problem, at least until the logistics are in place
(or they can bring all their own food, water, and medical supplies).

We will pay for our travel, food, boarding and lodging. We will carry the medicines with us and shall purchase them if more of them would be needed.

I am a senior citizen. I do not need a visa but my other colleagues do require it. They will tomorrow go to the Capital (Islamabad) of the country (Pakistan) and apply for a visa to the Indian High Commission. The moment they get visa, we will finalise our travelling schedule and let you know.
