CM potency

I've just received a call from a client who'd been referred to me, but has been seeing a different homeopath in the place he's staying before returning to his home near my location. He's been seeing this homeopath for several weeks for his "thyroid." This homeopath dowsed a whole bunch of remedies and ended up giving him Sulphur CM, in water, with a daily dose which he says hasn't caused any harmful effects, after about 6 weeks of taking it daily. The homeopath in question also has him taking two other remedies simultaneously. My reaction was just short of apoplectic, and I told him it would be good to stop taking all that till I see him in a couple of weeks if he plans for me to treat him homeopathically instead of this other person -- which apparently he does. But I'm also wondering -- is there something I don't know about CM potency being given in this way? (e.g., similar to LMs??) Clearly the person treating this patient didn't use a classical approach, given the dowsing and multiple remedies. Is there a name for this approach to homeopathic treatment (seriously -- I can think of a couple of epithets and don't need any more, but I'm checking to be sure my thoughts on it are accurate and not just ignorant.) Thanks. Rosemary
