I have always just used a 25 ml bottle for LMs although I give a small
(30ml) dispensing cup as well and request the patient to put whatever amount
of water into it that I've decided upon, and add whatever number of drops
I've also decided upon.

Generally with a fairly strong VF I prescribe 5 drops in 15 mls of water
with 5 succussions in between. If someone is sensitive or weak I generally
try 3 drops in 30 mls and have them take a sip [with 3 succussions in
between]. However, I sometimes change that to 3 drops in a whole glass of
water and take a sip if there's a strong initial reaction.
For babies I generally get the mother to put 1 or maybe 2 drops in 30 mls
and just wet the lips of the bub.

Why do I do this? Well, initially it was a matter of economics when I first
began to practice (because I used that size for my centisimals) and I found
it worked well-enough. I find the dispensing cup gives me flexibility if
there's an initial aggravation and I need to change the dose.

I probably use LMs about 50% of the time and have found this to be a
reliable and useful way of dispensing.
