cold?

Hi,

I was wondering if someone can recommend a remedy? I do know a
little about homeopathy and I have read up on several remedies, but
just don't really feel I'm finding what I'm looking for.

The symptoms are:
started out on first day with light coughing,
second day waking up with extreme sore throat and coughing,
headache when coughing and body sensitive to touch, almost
aching
third day a little better, sore throat gone,
but at night the coughing got worse
and this part really was hard to take:
felt like phlegm in the throat was stuck and I couldn't
breathe, coughed trying to get it out and breathe, went on for what
seemed like an hour
based on the last episode is there some remedy which springs
to mind?
This is the fourth time in this year that I am having this
kind of cold. At times there is a little runny nose, but nothing big.
What can I do it the next night will be the same nightmare?
In a nutshell, this is a weird cold which starts out always with
slight coughing, then very sore throat and lots of coughing. Mostly
dry cough although with the feeling of phlegm in the back of the
throat.

thanks for any thoughts on that

Hi, Christa! Here's David Little's first aid site on colds, with a lot
of remedies:

Causticum.

The "inability to get under the mucus" point to
this.though it is referred as just below the sternum
in Boericke. If the cough is a deep and hollow
one, then caust may be looked at. The slow evolution of
symptoms are also a pointer.

Hi Ginny,

thanks for your reply. I have looked at the first aids on colds
but just couldn't come up with a clear decision. My cold just seems
so strange. During the day I feel almost totally normal and do lots
of jogging etc. and then at night it all comes back. And especially
concerning was the feeling of choking on the mucous in the back of my
throat with the constant coughing.

Its almost gone now, except the coughing with the stuck mucous is
still there.

Thanks again christa

My cold just seems
lots

Expending all that energy while the body is trying to heal may be
delaying recovery.

Hi Toni,

thanks for your thoughts. I don't really think this is the case
here because it is the same on the weekend. Plus it is part of my
work and if I don't work I don't get paid. So I don't have a real
choice here anyway.

But thanks anyway
