Fevers and treatment in US

I will chime in about fevers, Tylenol, and children in the US as the
whole reason I got into homeopathy was out of desperation with my son's
recurrent tonsillitis, fevers, and his refusal to take Tylenol. I was
one of the nervous moms, giving Tylenol (on Dr.'s orders) for fevers or
any sort of discomfort. I didn't have problems with my first two kids,
but my third was prone to tonsillitis, and flat out refused to take any
sort of pain reliever. He was 3 years old and miserable, couldn't sleep,
couldn't eat or drink without crying. He had tonsillitis three times,
followed by antibiotics, for three months and we were all at the end of
our ropes by then. In the fourth month, the Dr. said removing the
tonsils was the answer, and I finally dawned on me that they had no idea
how to really help my son, so I started looking elsewhere, and found
homeopathy and a cure.
It is my experience that Tylenol is as over-abused as antibiotics in
allopathic pediatrics. "Just give them Tylenol" is the answer you get
for nearly any question. It's not just that moms are afraid of fevers, I
have observed an attitude that you are somehow a bad mom if you "allow"
your child to get sick; a neighbor once chided me when I told her my
daughter was sick that day..."Oh I never let my son get sick" she said,
"At the first sign that he is feeling poorly I donse him with Tylenol
and get him right to the Dr's for antibiotics".!!??!! It is very
discouraging when our health care system promotes the level of ignorance
and helplessness that leads to parents doing inadvertent damage the
health of their children.
