After Joy discussed the lack of sexuality within the picture of Gollum I looked over my Mancinella cases and realised that they all relate to their partners with obsessiveness and possession which all reflect Gollum and his sexual relationship with the Ring. I have one particular Mancinella client who spies on her partner at all hours of the night, and often has delusions that she can se a womans shape in his window. The sensation of Mancinella is obsession. Obsession has to be seen as the sensation within ALL aspects of the presenting mental/ emotional / and physical cravings= i.e. the fish obsession as well.

Does gollum really fear incursion of evil, or is he merely an obsessive
lusting Bufo, hyos, or some reptilian or amphibian consciousness open
to external control to some extent... Hyos still wins the math
repertorization. I guess I am not yet truly convinced. It is not
that your thesis is not a good one, IMO. It may be right, (from
reading all the other mails it well appears that you are) but since rx
can never be given to story characters, you cannot afford to be
wrong--must back it up to nth degree. And you seem to know more about
Manc than at least some of us (eg myself) do on the list--how else can
you definitively convince readers you are right, and teach them the rx
at the same time.

Maybe you need to trot out one or two more ironclad aspects of gollum
(throat golluming, ability to kill, morphological/consciousness
regression, talks to himself, slave mentality and resentment of being
betrayed by "master", eats things raw, likes shiny objects, fishing,
materialist, knowledgable and cunning scout, loose alliance with large
spiders, etc) which you can somehow dig up out of mancinella from your
cases or elsewhere. Maybe you can show that Manc is in the
hydrophobia miasm. Problems with shiny surfaces? Ailments from bites
of dogs or animals? Foaming at the mouth? Ailments from the sound of
water? Regression to an animal? If you would do that and get Lou
Klein's blessing, it might go further. Sankaran says typhoid that is
probably correct. Why in this context?

Just because evil owns the ring, and Gollum wanted it also, does this
mean that Gollum fears evil? If he feels guilt over killing, is that
fear of evil, or of good? He will take a hobbit for a master, not just
succumb to evil, which he does not necessarily seem to fear. He seemed
to do alright in Middle earth--even in Mordor without fearing too much.
Pretty savvy little spidery fish-reptilian.

BTW What other characters in the LOTR are you working with? Bring
em on and let us guess what you were thinking and try to confirm--we
won't tell anyone. Pippin? Merry? The king brought out of his spell;
his evil advisor; his brave daughter? Gimli? The Elven archer? Bilbo?
Treebeard? Saruman? Orcs (Solanum tuberosum aegrotans)? Ringwraith who
is killed by woman? Aragorn? Gandalf the grey and white? Boromir (why
nux)? Faramir? their immolating father? The spirits of the abyss?
Sauron? Sam's eventual saucy Hobbit bartender wife?
Tolkien himself?

PS- what other movies can you pitch to us.

I think Joy made a good point, that we can't reach "the" remedy for any of
these characters with any certainty (even leaving out that *no* remedy
choice is *ever* certain until after its work is finished!) because the
characters are incomplete. We don't have a "full case" available.

Maybe it would be even more instructive to to for "remedy group" for each
character, and look a bit at what differential diagnosis might be, if we had
the "patient" available to question?
