Minutus

I would like to share my horrific encounter with my fellow Minutus-folk.

I m a 47 year old male in South Africa.

Last Friday morning at 01:00 I woke up with an intense pain in my scrotum. It got me out of bed, and in my sleepy confused state I ran an hot bath to try and alleviate the pain. The bath did not help, and I had to take severy painkillers.

I went back to bed and try to remin calm, after which I fell asleep again. (Obviously because of the sedation.)

The next morning the pain was better, but at app. 11:00 it came back worse than the previous night.

I went to see a GP, because I was feely fainty. He got the opinion a urologist, who decided to operate immediately.

The diagnosis was a right Torsion Testicle. He also told me that he had had to operate between 4-5 hours after the occurance of the pain in order to save the testes. He then informed me that if he could not have saved the testes he had to remove it, as the testes would have been dead by then.

After the operation I was glad to discover that he could save the testicle.

I am in great pain still, but the blood supply had been restored and my other half is still alive. Although I am bruised and all the colours of a gloomy rainbow, my thankfulness supercedes.

I had a vasectomy 10 years ago, and do not know whether this in any way could relate to this condition.

Have any of you ever encountered this condition? Is there any "rescue" remedy other that an emergency operation to "detangle" a suicidal testical?

I would love to hear from you. Also if there is anything you can recommend to get rid of this depressing looking amazing technicolor reproductive appearance of my manhood?

Poor Anton - at least you haven't lost your sense of humour.

You need to really describe the type of pain to get to the best rx.

In this condition it is the twisting of the spermatic cord that causes the
problem so the previous vasectomy could have contributed to this happening
(beware it could happen to the left side as well). It is always considered
an emergency situation.

The 'rainbow' will pass in time but a few rx worth looking at would include
Clematis; Hamamelis; Berberis; Arnica does have swelling of the spermatic
cord but you need to see if this really fits; as well as Millefolium. But
the type of pain is important to help decide.

Adding to Joy's thoughts -- there *must* be remedies to address this, since
there is a set applying to "suicidal" intestines:

ABDOMEN; ILEUS, obstruction of bowels; general; intussusception (29) :
acon., arn., Ars., atro., bell., bry., carb-v., cocc., colch., coloc.,
cupr., kali-bi., kreos., lach., lob., lyc., merc., merc-c., nux-v., Op.,
phos., Plb., rhus-t., samb., sulph., tab., tarent., thuj., Verat.

But I haven't found a rubric that sounds applicable to yours...
Years ago I had a (presumed) intussusception (which is the only reason I
learned the rubric!), and in that case the remedy was found easily thru
taking my presenting picture, so I *assume* the same procedure could have
worked in your case -- but given the nature and urgency of the problem, I'd
say surgery was quite a reasonable way to go, since that was quickly
available!

But if you are presently under homeopathic care, it would seem like a good
idea to check in with your prescriber and see whether an "indicated remedy"
suggests itself, and that remedy would no doubt help with your healing from
the surgery, too.

The pain: I woke up frantic with pain. At first, in my very sleepy state, I

swolen, but not more than having a normal hot bath.

I made myself a hot cup of Rooibos tea (Honey bush tea - which is an
indigious South African herbal drink) which helped me to settle down and
calm myself.

The strong pain killers I took also numbed the pain.

When I woke up the next morning, the piercing pain was eased, but I had a
foreign pain in my lower back. I didn't take more medication.

Later during the morning, I suppose when the pain killers wore off, the pain
came back even worse and I felt like losing consciousness. I had needles and
pins in my legs and arms.

At appr. 11:00 I rushed to my GP - not being able to handle the pain
anymore. I didn't want to take anymore painkillers, because I realized that
the situation was not normal.

Upon my arriving at the GP, he called for a urologist, who decided to
operate immediate.

This was a close shave, but I am so thankful that I have both my braincells
still in place. Not that I have any need for them being a single man who
does not believe in extra marital olympics.

Yet, I believe that I still need my male hormones which originate from these
rather sensitive glands.

The urologist also informed me that my case was quite unique, because this
occurs in young males more frequently that 47 year olds, and because I had a
vasectomy 10 years ago.

He also told me that 1/500 000 men would have an experience like this.

So, pain in my tummy, going down my pelvis into the crotch, together with
nausia, heavy perspiration and irregular breathing. And needles and pins in
my arms and legs, together with pain in the lower back.

There you have it!

Outch! (Very outch!)

NOTE TO ALL MEN: Whenever this happens to you, don't ignore it. This is
quite serious and can ruin your intentions for raising a crown prince (or

Interesting that both north and south pole magnets are involved: north
has strangulating pain and south has actual twisting. Are quite a few
remedies. With some study you might be able to prepare a little paper
on this topic, and may also be able to find your present rx (?). Was
there any activity the previous day to make this more likely... What
remedy from these rubrics below if any, has other sx of your case or
matches the acute episode...What steadfast peculiar rubric in your case
can you cross with an aggregate of all the below remedies to see
candidates for a prophylactic or interdicting rx for another such
attack... If you find candidates, please report back to the group. May

What you describe is a normal course of torsion in this area and it is
usually young children this effects especially when a testicle hasn't
descended.

Out of interest you would have to elaborate on "kicking" pain; "paralysing"
pain; and "spiking" pain - medorrhinum has cutting pain in hypogastrium
extending to spermatic cords; calc has cutting pain in inguinal extending to
testes; spongia has screwing and squeezing pain but I think this goes
upwards but it has a great affinity to the lungs so the difficult breathing
episode you had might clinch this rx; berberis is neuralgic pain; clematis
is burning and neuralgic; hamamelis is cramping and burning; arnica has the
tingling - so as you recuperate you can study your case and let us know what
you come up with
