The only time I have ever prescribed it was to a young woman who had just
come back from 'clubbing' and all day lazing in the hot sun in Ibiza. It was
like a freedom trip to her and since her return to England she couldn't
adjust (this was in just 2 days). Never before had she spent so much time in
the sun, eating outdoors, sleeping in the sun, staying up nearly all night -
she was in quite a bad state. Apart from the headaches she was in a semi
permanent excitable state and also had this strange temperature of feeling
cool in the hot sun. I truly think it was some kind of sun stroke. Gave Sol
30c but never heard from her sadly, so no idea if it worked or not.
Sol also has cold limbs (+ hot head), even in the hot sun so who knows if
Sol would have worked better than Belladonna (which appears to have been the
simillimum anyway in your daughter's case).
The pains in Sol headaches are more pressing, crushing and stitching rather
than pounding. Also floating and scalding sensations.
Glonoine, another remedy well known for heat stroke also shares the heat
coming from the stomach and going upwards, like Sol but I don't think it has
cold limbs with a hot head.
I too have seen so many excellent results with belladonna - if I could only
ever have one rx, it would be belladonna
best wishes, Joy

Hi Joy,
Neat remedy! Have you ever given it (or read of it given) constitutionally
-- and/or for heatstroke etc.?
When my daughter as a toddler had heat exhaustion -- or whatever -- she went
down down with pounding headache and high fever -- she responded well to
Belladonna (had the keynote(?) of icy feet together with furnace-like heat
of the head. I wonder whether sol would also have worked -- do you have an
opinion?
(That was an interesting experience... Her response in the first few
minutes - as she restlessly slept - was that her feet became hot *too*,
which made me nervous, but shortly after it all normalized, and she was
completely fine by morning! Another "cool" Belladonna adventure." I do
like Belladonna!)
