Would anybody have an idea about a rubric or a remedy covering the symptom
"coughing when the bladder is full"?
Sometimes this patient has bouts of coughs and then realises it is because
the bladder is full........SRP definitely but I spent a long time in Mac Rep
and RefWorks trying to find something remotely close, nothing..........

Of course plenty of other stuff, but this is REALLY peculiar.

Help please.......

Hmh - after the cough he realises that his bladder is full.
Odd.

Normally, when the bladder is full, one has the desire to urinate.
So perhaps the rubric can be applied:
Bladder, fullness, senssation of, desire to urinate, without

I assume he doesn't loose urine during the coughs with his bladder, does
he?

No he does not loose urine while coughing.
And he knows when his bladder is full, like we all do, but we do not immediately go to the toilet, we finish what we do, wait a bit, no urgency, no tenesmus...... it is during that time that the cough emerges, making the bladder feeling totally conscious and not semi subconscious as we all have it.

I hope I explain myself clearly...... normal bladder function, cough arising when the bladder is full.

then I would use the bigger rubric:
Bladder, sensation of fullness
and look at those remedies listed there (Dig might look interesting with
all the cough symptoms)

(possibly crossed with Coughing agg. - Bell and Hep come up)

Just an idea, though.

But..........not to be contrary or antagonistic.......coughing agg means that the cough makes things worse.
I am looking for "cough, full bladder agg" )

Here is an idea - there is a situation in pregnancy, a dry cough that
happens due to pressure of the uterus on the bladder and various nerves, and
hyd-ac has been suggested.

So, I looked up the cough rather than the bladder and here is what I found

I know your patient is male, but pressure from the bladder for whatever

Isn't this just a safety device then. If he didn't cough what would happen.
As you say many of us hold it in until something gives us the message that
we have to go. When he coughs what happens to make him think he has to go?

Personally I think the suggestion of 'retention of urine with urging on
coughing' seems to fit. It is also crossed with 'urging to urinate on
coughing'.

Sticta has a sensation of a distended bladder and is a prominent cough
remedy and is also >>> for free discharges. Does the cough disappear after
urination?

Squilla, Kali carb, Pulsatilla and Caust have related full bladders and
coughs as do hundreds of remedies really.

Phos has a full bladder without urging and a cough which is exited by many
complaints.

Stannum has 'only the sense of the bladder being full indicates the
necessity to urinate as well as a cough which is also excited by various
complaints.

Hopefully there is something else in the case to confirm.
