Hi, All -
I'm doing some repping based on changes in my cat Merlyn's condition
(CRF diag 9/03 and is now worsening) and have had Lachesis come up
first.
Does anyone have any clinical experiences in using Lach with CRF or
renal insufficiency? I'm going to be reading all the MM info I can on
Lach, but thought I'd also check for others experiences or thoughts.

Since Lach. is very well represented in repertory, and isn't known for
renal insufficiency; recommend you read Crotalus cascavella.. there is
a case in Homeopathic Links, Autumn 1977 in which Crot-C was curative in
renal failure.. the case had lots of 'snaky' symptoms, which might
coincide with your repertorizing of Lach.

Hi, David -

Thanks for your response. I discarded Lachesis as a possibility last
night after reading more about it...definitely not right. I'll take a
look at Crot; someone else also mentioned taking a look at Crot. His
'new' symptoms recently have been a very deep almost coma-like sleep far
more often (which was part of why Lach turned up strong in the rep, I
believe) than in the past plus substantial increase in white, frothy
vomit first thing in the morning (along with his usual periodic
inappetence and nausea). He seems more dehydrated than usual (he's been
receiving once daily subQs from the beginning almost a year ago since
every time we tried to decrease the subQs he would relapse badly) so
this weekend we're giving him 2xDay subQs to see if that will help him
through this current decline.

He's been on Ars and Phos for like 9 months now and doing outstanding
with them until recently (we started at 30c in both and have moved up
gradually to both are now at LM4). They have been given in alternation
(as his symptoms indicate a need) since one by itself just never seemed
to do the trick. A couple weeks ago, he seemed in a lot of discomfort
(was licking his kidney area, restless and calling/yowling more than
normal -- he's an Oriental so a certain amount of 'talking' is normal)
and responded very well to a couple doses of Berb 6c (aqueous dilution).

I've now increased his dosing of the Ars and Phos also since his latest
decline.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. I'll do more research/reading for
Merlyn!
