Can anyone tell me why this remedy is contra-indicated in patients with skin complaints.
when using as an intercurrent, does one do so as with other nosodes with regards potency or are there other regimes that I should know about?
with thanks,
michele.

Dear Michelle
As Folliculinum is a sarcode, the "intercurrent rule" regarding the use of a
nosode to "close a miasm down" doesn't quite apply. Sarcodes enjoy best use
as organ support. In the case of Folliculinum it's most often used to
regulate ovarian function.
However, due to the fulsome picture that Melissa Assilem has provided for us
regarding this particular sarcode it also "enjoys" use as a medicine that
sits alongside the polychrests, its "picture" being somewhat akin to
Carcinosinum especially on the mental/emotional level. In that way it can
also be used in the higher potencies.
Interestingly the very first time I ever used Folliculinum (when I was in
student clinic) was to treat a skin condition on a lady who, by observation
at least, (due to her quite "masculine" appearnce that included an obvious
moustache) had hormonal dysfunction. I prescribed Foll 6C in a water potency
to be taken daily (succussing in between doses) from ovulation to menses
(which was when her skin condition always settled [ menses > :foll]) for 3
months. It did an excellent job on all levels.
kind regards
Patricia

Dear Michelle
Like Patricia I have used foll to regulate ovarian function and also for
menopausal patients to help with hot flushes (where indicated). Neither I
nor my colleagues have ever had an edict or any information that foll is
contra-indicated for patients with skin complaints.
