Rubric

Hi everyone
Any ideas on rubrics for chest pain CAUSED by drinking cold things?
Also, hiccoughing and burping cause the pain. Warm drinks do not have
the same effect. It is a pressing, radiating pain. Possibly a liver
problem?
TIA,
Laura P

Hello Laura, I would begin with CHEST, pain, after drinking cold water =
Kent, p842. Only a few Rx so worth checking out your materia medica.
Staphysagria comes to mind. Best wishes, Joy Lucas.

Dear Laura,

The most suitable rubric found in Synthesis repertory
is CHEST/ Pain, drinking cold water, after (Carb-v,
Nit-ac, Psor, Rhus-t, Staph and Thuj).

The other rubic that MAY be useful here is Hiccough,
painful (Acon, Carb-v, Cimx, Mag-m, Mag-p, Nat-c,
Nicc, Phos, Rat, Sul-ac, Tab, Teucr and Verat).

I don't like the last one because the location of pain
is not clear!!
Best,

Ardavan

Thanks to Joy, Alireza, Ardavan , isali ben-jacob and Allen for
responding to my query. This is an update. The pain occured after all
cold drinks (contractive spasm?) but not warm tea. It also occured after
hiccouphs and belching (also a contractive spasm?). The pain came from
behind the sternum in the region of the heart. It was a totally new
symptom for him, so I waited to see if it would subside and it has mostly
gone away. The interesting thing is that it occured at the same time
that his arms hurt and his chest muscles hurt from doing some strenuous
yard work (to which he is unaccustomed ). There was also a serious
marital argument that day to which he was a witness, somewhat, but
appears to be unconcerned with. I am looking at Staphysagria and looking
at his other symptoms.
Laura
