What are antipsoric remedies, what are apsoric remedies?
Let us begin from the very start: The MMP and the CD.
The remedies which Hahnemann listed in the MMP but did not insert them
into the CD are clearly apsoric (i.e. non-psoric) remedies.
It just takes a comparison to list them:
Acon, Ambr, Ang, Arn, Asar, Bell, Bism, Bry, Camph, Cann-s, Caps, Cham,
Chel, China, Cic, Cina, Cocc, Cycl, Dros, Euphr, Ferrum, Hell, Hyos,
Ign, Ip, Led, Magnet, Meny, Mosch, Nux-v, Oleand, Op, Puls, Rheum,
Rhus-t, Ruta, Samb, Scilla, Spig, Spong, Staph, Stram, Tarax, Verat,
Verb.
On the whole 45 remedies of the 65 remedies in the MMP don't belong to
the Antipsoricis. Those 18 remedies (in the MMP) are:
Mur-ac, Ph-ac, Arg, Ars-a, Aur, (Auripigmentum), Calc-ac, Carb-an,
Carb-v, Coloc, Con, Dig, Dulc, Guaj, Magnesium, Sars, Stann, Sulph.
An interesting comparison, don't you think so?
The polychrests Nux-v and Puls - not effective against psoric disease?
But Digitalis an Antipsoric?
So - what is Psora?
First of all: let us not forget that Hahnemann clearly regarded it only
as a 'THEORY' (see footnote to Aph. 284)! And theories are
working-models.
He came to it through observations and analogous conclusions:
Observations:
1. seemingly isolated maladies form an entity of a chronic disease
2. suppressing the itch disease with external applications causes many
different symptoms, diseases, sometimes death. It was difficult to cure
chronic diseases, when an itch disease had been present before.
Conclusions:
- Syphilis is chronic miasmatic. Other chronic diseases, with the same
process, must have a miasmatic origin.
- if antipsoric remedies can cure chronic diseases after a known
infection of Scabies, then chronic diseases without that infectious
origin, which are also effectfully cured with antipsorics, must have a
psoric nature.
- like in miasmatic epidemics, the totality of individual symptoms
creates the entire picture of Psora
- like in Syphilis and Sycosis, the infection of the miasm takes place
BEFORE the eruption appears - therefore eradicating the eruption doesn't
mean cure
- according to the chronic diseases with a special development which
stem from a known psoric infection, all the chronic diseases with a
similar development must have their origin in a psoric nature.
(This approach if observations and conclusions had already been
published in the German foreword of the CD by Klunker, in 1988).

Conclusions still are hypotheses, which try to explain something.
Yet still we can ask: if we have a certain development in a disease, a
defined order of symptoms - is there only ONE way to reach this (Psora)?
While Psora may cause a certain set of symptoms - does that necessarily
mean that each and every set of such symptoms is caused by Psora?
Comparison: While many Nux-v patients may have a darker appearance and
have a tough fibre, does that mean that everyone wth tough fibre and
brown appearance needs Nux? Sure not.
Question:
Where does the idea of miasms stem from? Is this a purely homoeopathic
model?
Answer:
NO!!!
It was a part of some conventional medical grouping at that time.
I don't have the time to write about it in depth, but the origins date
mainly from the 18th century and earlier. Francois Boissier de Sauvage
de la Croix (1706 - 1767) - who was mentioned in Hahnemann's Dissertatio
- already established in his 'Nosologica medica' 10 classes of
diseases, with several orders in each of them. In one of the orders he
mentions Lepra, Syphilis, scurvy, scabies..
An entire article about that history would take days or weeks - perhaps
I will do that during the next months.
