This is an amazing book.
Of course, it isn't going to tell you anything about finding a remedy
for that hard case, nor give you any hints about clinical practice...
But it is the clearest exposition of the history of the clinical
trial ever done. THe information is mind-boggling.
This book clearly places Hahnemann within the medical system of the
times in which he lived and explains how his processes were
influenced by the current thought of the time. When I come across a
quote on the web like this:
"Homeopathy was founded by the mystic Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) in
an era when all sorts of angel beliefs were abroad. His book on
demonic Psora. Hahnemann, the L. Ron Hubbard of his day, claimed that
reading his book was sufficient to frighten away many of the demonic
Psora inhabiting sick peoples' bodies, & he aggressively sold the
book to patients as a "medicine" in & of itself."
I realize how little some people understand the history of medicine
and how homeopathy developed in a logical fashion.
Michael Emmans Dean had done a great service by collecting the data
and masking it accessible in the book. And the Appendicies on the CD
are priceless.
GREAT BOOK!!
