Migraine - the full case (more info)

I have just spoken to the lad and got some more information. From this I
think I am quiet interested in looking at Gels. more thoroughly and keeping
Nat Mur in the background but still there!!
He gets nausea but has only vomited once.
Thirst - yes for water but I he did have to think about it. He eats when he
wakes while he has the headache but not during the vertigo because of the
nausea. He eats the stuff he snacks on- pot noodles, Super noodles,, packet
soups i.e. highly salty stuff which has probably got MSG in it!! He admitted
that he adds alt to food.
Company - "I want to be left to sleep but want my mum around. I don't like
being on my own . I sleep in her bed because it is softer."
Sweat - from the panic when he first looks at his fingers and realises that
they are blurred.
"I feel hot but I want the covers on."
On asking specifically "Fresh air help but I don't like to go outside
because of the noise. Yes I do have the window open."
Never goes to the beach (we live in a seaside town)
Numbness in the fingers comes when the speech is slurred. The numbness in
the right cheek comes with the left sided headache which pulsates in the
hollow on an angle from the outer eyebrow.
Dizziness tends to start at 10 a.m. when he is taken home from school, he
sleeps 4 hours wakes with the headache, might have a drink and goes back to
sleep. Every time he wakes the headache is weaker.
He has never known the grandparents who died from cancer.
The medication which worked for him was called Pizotifen (This is an
antihistamine and serotonin antagonist structurally related to tricyclic
anti depressants. It acts as a prophylaxis for the prevention of vascular
headache.)
It started about the time of his SATs (compulsory tests at age 10/11) He had
to have a tutor in Maths. "I used to cry in maths tests. My mind would go
blank with a sum like 10+12. I would get worked up and cry. the teacher
would come up to me and I would pull myself together and carry on.
The reaction to the BCG test the first time he had it was that it went a
purple red like a bruise and scarred. he had the test and then the
vaccination the following year - which was probably last year.
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions on and off list., I am still going
through them.
