Can anybody help out with Materia Medica descriptions for Mica, Placenta,
and Hydrocotyle and Ars-sulph-flav? I have limited stuff from Vermuelen,
and am particularly interested in these remedies in relation to a possible
for a Vitiligo case. Thanks

Some notes about Hydrocotyle from murphy:

The skin and the female generative organs are the
chief seats of the drug's action, though the liver,
the nerves and the mucous membranes are also
powerfully acted upon. A great variety of skin
disorders have been cured with it, acne, eczema,
pemphigus, lupus, copper-colored eruption, papular
eruption on face intolerable itching in various
places.

Other indications are: Stomatitis, aphthous and
syphilitic. Irritation of the neck of the bladder
increased secretion of urine. Heat and itching in
vagina. Weight in uterus. Granular ulceration.

Hydrocotyle acts on the male sexual organs also,
causing weight in the "male uterus," the prostate
gland. Gouty and rheumatic disorders.

Affections of the trigeminus nerve. Bruised feeling in
all the muscles. A patient of mine who was taking
Hydroc. for eczema with advantage complained of
persistent dreaming all the time he was asleep and an
unpleasant mouth on waking in the morning.
Ars-s-f from Pulford:

Is anaemic, physically anxious, anxious especially
p.m. in bed, weak, touchy, hasty, restless,
apprehensive especially after a swoon, discontented,
obstinate, averse to being spoken to, faint after
stool, has vertigo as if dangling up and down, dry
nose, sneezes, face is sickly, expression anxious,
tongue and mouth dry, breath offensive, averse to fat,
rich food and meat, desires : coffee, sweets, warm
food and drinks; extremely thirsty, dyspnoea, back
constantly cold, sensitive to a draft though one
desires the open air, mucus discharges excoriate, are
offensive, thin and yellow, the pulse rapid,
irregular, small, weak and intermittent, is cold and
chilly, feet cold and offensive, sweats after waking,
worse : nights especially after bathing from which one
takes cold, and especially worse after eating.

Clinical

Anaemia, physically anxious and weak, especially if
due to chronic malaria or suppressed eruptions.
Mica; only this in my 754 volumes!!

Dear Rhonda-
The original use of Mica and Hydrocotyle for Vitiligo followed the
use of these medicines in Indian Medicine - Ayurveda- for Vitiligo
and skin conditions.
Mica is called Abrak in Indian Medicine and it is part of Abrak
Bhasma and Abrak Chendur. They are used in so many diseases( Diabetes
for example) and for skin conditions. I have not used Mica but a 3x
preparation of Abrak ( I made it myself )for Vitiligo based more on
routine pathological prescription. I do not remember any great
success with that in the case I used it). I have used Sepia and
Natrum mur successfully for this but on regular homeopathic
indications. Sepia used to be indicated a lot for this - another
coloring agent!!!
But you can probably find a lot more Abrak and Hydrocotyle in Indian
Materia Medica - for example - Nadkarni's work.

You might also want to look at Nat-m., Sanicula, and Berb-aq. According to
Dr. Ramakrishnan, 50% of the vitiligo cases in India are treated with
Nat-m., with Sanicula being a close second. Ars-s-fl. is more likely to be
needed in children's vitiligo.

Vitiligo continues to spread, so was looking at possibilities of other
remedies. I don't know what period of time would be acceptable (I know, as

however, I would like to see some sign that the spreading was
stopping...though at least the patches aren't spreading upwards, so it may
just be following the Law of Cure..though am not happy to just let it rest,

Materia Medica to describe the condition - not once in any of the
descriptions have I read of any of the skin descriptions have I thought 100%
yes, this is the remedy! And I'm not talking here of just matching the skin
symptoms to the remedy, but surely if someone presents for a skin complaint,
the remedy should match the skin symptoms.

It's been a long day. Maybe things will make more sense tomorrow.

As Patricia said "It sounds like Law of Cure to me"; of course, any person who has this problem won't be happy. Maybe is time to remember to lady every one of her old and awful symptoms.

And if her mind is better, his generals too, but some particulars are worse, then its going to cure. And you should be confident that it will take all the time her strongest or weakness could work on it. It's not medicine whom cures, but body itself.

I have both had and given sepia as a "layer", and been profoundly grateful
for it! But neither I nor the other person seems to "be sepia" in a deep
way.

But I am interested to hear why you feel it cannot be a "layer"?
