On 29 Jun 2004 "Miguel F" asked to recommend a book on Materia Medica.
REPLY FROM DR. V. KRISHNAMURTHY.
I am teaching and practising homeopathy for over thirty years now. I have
tried various Materia Medicas and Repertories. I am now fully convinced
that the following reference books are more than sufficient, whether you are
a beginner or experienced homeopath:

1. William Boericke's MATERIA MEDICA (combined with Repertory by Oscar E.
Boericke.)

2. HOMEOPATHIC THERAPEUTICS by Dr. Samuel Lilienthal

3. THE GUIDING SYMPTOMS OF OUR MATERIA MEDICA BY Dr. Constantine Hering

4. Repertory of Dr. Calvin B. Knerr

5. Repertory by Dr. J. T. Kent

6. THE ACCOUCHEUR'S EMERGENCY MANUAL by Dr. W. A. Yingling

But you must know how to make use of the above ;books. Also, you should
know value of symptoms, how to takew a case etc. Symptom does not always
mean sensation, modality, concomitant.
