Well, I did not list the symptoms here, but the reasons for the
consultation. But, believe me, she was Calc-c. after having been given
the remedy she became exactly what you said. Hard-working, very good at
school, especially in Mathematics. She started to enjoy riding on her
bike and her facial feature developped nicely, before she had a face
like a pancake due to overweight.
There is an important difference between Silicea and Calc.-c. Both might
be very good at school, but Silicea must be number one, she is very
ambitious, whereas Calc.c needn't be the best, Calc.-c enjoys being good.
And by the way, I have never seen a Silicea grossly overweight.
The boy was 2 years old. Melancholy is not easy to observe in children
of that age, but the refusal to speak, being withdrawn, sad eyes, not
wanting to play, no one could cheer him up, those are sure sign of
mealncholy or a rather depressive mood. He did react to music, he liked
to listen and swayed to and fro. Aurum is often indicated when children
even at a very young age hurt themselves (here it was banging the head
against the floor), as can be read in Mohinder Sigh Jus, Kindertypen,
Homoeosana: Zug 1998, p. 145 f.
I mentioned this case, because there was this big change in the boy's
attitude and behaviour, who had been a typical phosphor temperament with
sparkling eyes (and a lot of the typical symptoms and weaknesses of
phosphor). This change to Aurum was quite extraordinary. Of course, as
can be read in "Kindertypen" as well, there were severe troubles in the
family (or what was left of it) and this family problems make children
feel unwanted, which can be a caustation for Aurm. In this case the
mother had big problems herself, otherwise the child would not have
developped in such a sad way. Unfortunately the mother discontinued the
homoeopathic treatment for herself and her child.
Yours sincerely
