1991.

'About two months after beginning the proving,
developed an extreme range of mental symptoms that he
had never had before. These included severe
depression with strong alternations of moods, ~high
then low~, with suicidal tendency, desire to jump from
a high building or cut wrist, confusion of identity
(especially concerning sex and homosexuality ) and
became more religious. He moved away from his parents
home (which he had never before been able t o do) and
shut himself away in a small flat. This condition
lasted for another six or seven months and was finally
antidoted by Phosphorus 200. Before that, he had
tried to anti-dote it with acupuncture, to no avail.'

I have found Hydrogenium so useful in 'Sulphur-type'
patients talking and theorizing about their private
sweet mystical experiences and interested in esoteric
subjects! But they are not so philosophical as Sulphur
patients. There are not so many halucinations like
Anhalonium; there is just a change in feeling the
world, boundaries of perception and a pleasant feeling
of presence of an immortal light in existence.

Lovely compact description of Hydrogen. Thank you.

One tends to emphasise the emotional and mental sx of this remedy but it is
worth getting acquainted with some of the prominent physical sx. Because the
main delusions are centred around their 'vision' of the world it is notable
that the eye has some interesting sx.

there is bleeding within the eye
the eyes discharge and become crusty with pustular eruptions
eyes water a lot when coughing
pain is sticking or pricking
sensation as if grit is in the eye
eyes feel heavy
the eyes sting
eyesight deteriorates
upper eyelids tend to swell
vision of black spots
eyes seem brighter, colours seem more beautiful
feel the need to close the eyes
dreams are all about colours
vision of objects/people which seem to have enlarged

Another comparable remedy is Phosphorus, which is plain to 'see'

I gave my nephew Hydrogen once- he was totally spaced out after being in India for a while, wearing white clothes, long skirt things etc. He kept says that he wanted to seek "realisation". After the Hydrogen he sneezed hard and solidly for a good few minutes - which is in the Rx -and it cleared all his catarrh and sinus problem. He did well on the Rx and came back to earth gradually. He is just completing a law degree at this moment!!

Interesting! Had the sinus problems been there before the trip to India,
and "with the wisdom of hindsight" do you think he had hydrogen
characteristics before the trip too?

Hello again Ardavan

A serrendipitous choice of remedies you've listed this week; at least, from
my perspective, as they both correlate to the Lacs!

I've placed Hydrog (and the other Rx on line 1 of the periodic table) as
complementary Rx to Lac-maternum.

The core issue in Lac-m is "deciding" to actually incarnate again and to
choose between being male or female (the homosexuality reference is
interesting in that respect). For the Lac-m type it's about getting the
balance between the 2 energies right in whatever body is chosen for this
incarnation. It's having achieved the alchemical conjunctio that allows us
to move forward with the most ease.

It's a big Rx for suicidal depression the main aetiology being drug "abuse"
(stemming from a drug-induced or traumatic birth). The medicalisation of
Birth is an enormous "disincentive" for an incoming soul to embrace the
physical plane!
It's interesting to read the details of Rochelle's case as I can corroborate
that being "spaced out" from cannabis use (or other drug use) can be sorted
with Lac-m. It brings the soul back into the body in much the same way as
does Hydrog. Often, there's no interest at all in food. However there can be
a desire for protein foods (colostrum, from which Lac-m derives its primary
signature, is high in protein) or junk food (take-away food or coca cola);
and, yes, choc also!

I have a long, intricate case study on Lac-m with suicidal depression,
discussed in my book (The Homoeopathic Physician's Guide to Lactation). It's
too detailed to go into here but I'd like to say that it's still "early
days" with Lac-m but it's interesting also, that's there's much even in
western medical literature, regarding suicide associated with the
medicalisation of Birth.

Dear All,

Besides the "mentals" of hydrogen, there's a lot of similiarity in the physical to a typical AIDS picture. We found it very effective when we used it. (we now mostly depend on PC1)

I still go back to hydrogen time to time, especially when I see AIDS "senility" in a pt.
