automated email to a homeopath

Hi,
I am having email problems that must be related to my participation in this group.

Today I received an email from a homeopath with an attachment. I did not open the attachment, but the email said "Don't send me this illegal stuff." I don't have this homeopath's email address and it could only be through this group that he could have received an weird email through me. Some mechanism is using my email address to send email pollution. :( I have a firewall and a virus protector. I wish I knew how to eliminate this.

I received a notice from my server saying my message to indifree@hotmail.com did not arrive. I have a feeling that this email is related to this problem. This address does not exist in my address book.

Sorry if anyone else got some stupid email.

I am still getting this junk (actually more than ever) and have recently seen an increase in spam using homeopathic terms in the subject line. Then I saw a truly vulgar email come through with my own email address as the 'sender'. I believe someone has taken our list - taken our names - and is using them.
Don't know what to do about it.
Any suggestions?
Donna

I blocked all the old mail that was weird. I was only deleting it. But the worst one does not allow blocking. Frustrated, Ellen Madono

Probably almost everyone who has joined *any list* anywhere receives
similar junk.

It is useless to discuss it here, it is not related to this list.

look here for possible solutions
