Hura Brasiliensis

Hura is the homeopathic remedy prepared from the milky
juice of Assacu or Sandbox tree.

It was first proved by Mure.

Hura has a clear mental picture. If you study the
mental symptoms of Hura, you find out that you may
have missed some Hura cases and prescribed Pulsatilla,
Cyclamen or Aurum metallicum instead.

The main mental feature is 'Forsaken feeling'. The
patient suffers greatly from a deep feeling of being
forsaken; being repudiated by relatives; being alone
in the world; lost the affection of his/her friends
and feeling that his/her friends have lost all
confidence in him.

Another important feature is the sensation as if skin
were hidebound (esp skin of forehead). The skin is
dry, lacking pliancy and adhering closely to the
underlying tissue. This is a condition common in
patients suffering from leprosy. It may also be
indicated in cases with scleroderma when the above
mentioned mental features exist.

There are tense vesicles which forcefully eject their
contents when pricked. It is interesting to know that
when the Hura fruit is ripe and exposed to a dry
atmosphere, bursts with a loud, sharp crack like the
report of a pistol and scatters the seeds!!
