Are we still on this misunderstanding?
FIRST:
According to to both the US and British Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia
when preparing a TINCTURE it is made in a 1/10 drug strength.
THEREFORE a MT, made according to those standards IS A 1X.
I do not understand what is so hard to comprehend about that!
So, in that light, your question versus MT and 1X is moot.
SECOND: Can globules be medicated?
I am not sure how well the hard cane-sugar globules will absorb the
tincture. I know that B&T used to medicate 1 grain TABLETS by placing
a drop on each. These were called "Tincture tablets" to not confuse
them with 1X Trituration tablets-- where the material was prepared by
trituration with milk-sugar.
I have in my collection both a 1X trit and a 1X Tincture tablet of
Belladonna. The tincture tablet is a lighter color.
Shelf life? I have no idea. Given the volitility of some tinctures,
probably not very long.
Effectiveness? I medicated some 1 grain tablets with Berberis MT for
my brother when he was having a kidney-stone episode, and he found
they were, in his words, "better than the pain killers."
As for echinacea? It depends what dosage is required. If one or two
drops in a glass of water is a good dose of an herbal prep, then MT
on tablets should work well. If the dose is something like 15 or 20
drops, tablets are not the way to go.
