De-coded! Da Hahnemann Code murder mystery solved!
Posted: Mon Apr 26, 2004 6:47 pm
Dear Friends,
Below is the de-coding of the murder mystery. I am surprised that no one
from this list even tried to solve this "crime." I can say that the people
at the NCH Conference's Saturday night dinner/dance solved each riddle
relatively rapidly. However, when the clues spelled out the name of the
murderer (LESSOTS), it wasn't until I gave the final clue did someone shout
out the name of the killer!
People who know me could have guessed who the murderer without any clues,
but heck, the clues were the fun part. I hope you enjoyed this one. I am
hoping to do another murder mystery at next year's NCH conference which will
be held in Orlando, Florida (April 8-12th). This conference will be over
Hahnemann's birthday, and Sam will have been 250 years old in 2005! Very
cool!

DA HAHNEMANN CODE – De-coded!
The first riddle was:
I make it as I can can
Nothing doing so I can’t can’t
How dry I am
How knotty too
If only I can remember my name.
ALUMINA
The riddle to determine which letter to use was:
The 1st half cross
THERE ARE TWO HALF CROSSES IN “ALUMINA,” BUT THE FIRST HALF CROSS IS “L”.
The second riddle was:
A heck of a guy
Rock solid to the bone
Was totally hot
Now totally cool
HEKLA LAVA
The riddle to determine which letter to use was:
He tries harder
LIKE THE COMMERCIAL FOR “AVIS RENT CAR,” WHICH FOR YEARS WAS THE #2 CAR
RENTAL COMPANY IN THE U.S., THE #2 LETTER OF HEKLA LAVA IS: “E”.
The next riddle I found was strangely listed TWICE on the same
paper, and it read:
A rosy red hotty
But can’t stand other hotties
A flamer who drops hints of indifference
(Hint: This remedy is NOT a urinary nosode)
APIS (I HOPE THAT THE HINT MAKES SENSE TO YOU NOW!)
The riddle to determine which letter to use was:
A bookend at the end
“S” IS THE “BOOKEND.”
The next riddle that I found was:
Bursting onto the scene
A heart throb
A pulsating hotty
A truly sensitive guy of the new millennium
But often a real head case.
GLONONINE
The riddle to determine which letter to use was:
A Valley girl’s prayer
THE MOST FAMOUS SAYING OF A “VALLEY GIRL” IS “OH MY GOD” WHICH TELLS US THAT
THE LETTER IS “O”.
The next riddle that I found was also strangely listed TWICE:
A heart constricts
On a near midnight ride
With a heavy metal band
Playing numbing pulsations
Radiating down to what left of it all
CACTUS
There were two riddles to determine which letters to use were:
A real cross to bear
“T” IS THAT CROSS
All’s well that ends well
“S” IS THAT WHICH ENDS THIS WORD
WITH THE ABOVE HINTS, WE HAVE FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT. THE MURDERED OF
SAMUEL HAHNEMANN WAS “LESSOTS.” LET’S GO STRING HIM (OR HER) UP. ALL WE
HAVE TO DO IS FIND OUT WHO IS “LESSOTS!”
WELL…ALMOST.
The name that this spelled out meant no sense to me or to any
homeopath…until I discovered one more clue that read:
A yogi or yogini will help you…
THIS CLUE ENCOURAGES US TO GET INTO A YOGIC SHOULDER STAND POSE AND THEN
READ THIS LETTERS FROM DOWN TO UP…AND IT SPELLS:
STOSSEL (JOHN STOSSEL!)
JOHN STOSSEL IS THE ABC NEWS REPORTER WHO RECENTLY PRODUCED A HACKET JOB
REPORT ON HOMEOPATHY FOR ONE OF AMERICA’S MOST WELL-LOVED AND WATCH TV NEWS
