I don't mean to be irksome but can all "thank you" and "aren't you
wonderful" posts be sent directly to the person they are intended for. I
know they don't take long to delete but.....

Yup, I confess to having done it deliberately this time, for just that
reason. But, Joy, I totally understand your point, and have often thought
(even said) the same myself... I guess sometimes it's a chancey balance;
sorry if my kudos just read like clutter. In general I agree, tho, that
"thanks" (and often even "well said") are perhaps better said backchannel --
which is what I usually do.

Sometimes, the person needs to receive his accolades publicly and, others
who may not know the value of the person's contributions, might need to be
informed.
So, sometimes, I will do it publicly. Like all other things, however, one
must use common sense.
