Hello David,
I remember your last posting when you asked whether anyone had the
original copies of Boenninghausen's German edition of Repertory.
I skimmed thru my stored text and came across stuff from Hans
Weitbrecht (www.boger-boenninghausen.com) that he has a photocopy of
the original one which boen himself used.The original is with Pierre
Schmidt's library (don't know where it is).

Boenninghausen's System of underlining in his repertories.

Recently I acquired photocopies of Boenninghausen's copies of the
Systematic Repertory of the Anti-psorics (SRA, 1833), and of the
Systematic Repertory of the Non-psorics (SRN, 1832).
These are photo prints of the two copies from Pierre Schmidt's
library. Their authenticity is undisputed. These copies have empty
pages opposite all regular pages. Boenninghausen made a lot of
additions to these copies, either by inserting remedies in the
already existing rubrics, or by creating new rubrics.
For me it was of particular interest to find out the exact meaning of
his underlining (1-3).
While searching for the meaning of the underlining, I compared later
publications of Boenninghausen with those two copies I had just
acquired.
I particularly looked at the newly formed rubrics in the SRA. I found
them included in Boenninghausen's: (1854) Koerperseiten und
Verwandtschaften (sides of the body and remedy-relationships) (S+R).
A one-by-one comparison of the entries brought the following to light:
Throughout SRA and SRN the following pattern for new Rubrics/Remedies
was found:
Remedies underlined three times in the SRA = 5th Grade in the print
Remedies underlined two times in the SRA = 4th Grade in the print
Remedies underlined once in the SRA = 3rd Grade in the print
Remedies not underlined in the SRA =2nd Grade in the print
Throughout SRA and SRN the following pattern for existing Remedies
has been confirmed:
Remedies underlined three times in the SRA = 5th Grade in the print
Remedies underlined two times in the SRA = 4th Grade in the print
Remedies underlined once in the SRA = 3rd Grade in the print
Remedies not underlined in the SRA = same Grade as in the original
print
My findings also reflect, that Boenninghausen's idea was, to stay
within the definitions of the five grades, as laid out in the
introduction to the Therapeutic Pocketbook (1846).
