I finally found the/a report that described the study on this, albeit
executed about 20 years ago. L O Byerley and A Kirksey conducted this and I
am sure you will find your own references to it on Google or whatever - the
report is in the american Journal of clinical medicine. Their conclusion was
some kind of mechanism was preventing the Vit c filtering through, even on
high doses.
