Dear Dr Krishnamoorthy

You wrote:

"A patient complains of corns in soles, cramps in calves, swelling of feet,
knee pain etc. all in lower limbs.
Now, all the complaints are in the leg.
For this when we look into KENT'S Repertory (page 965) we read 'CONGESTED.
(See Blood.)". So, we turn to p.93 and find the following: "

Firstly, I think you mean page 954 in place of 93 (which is Mind section)!

Secondly, I appreciate that the swelling of the feet is related to blood and
heart - however, what is the relationship between corns, cramp in the legs
and knee pain and CONGESTION. Please explain. Or are you just taking the
swelling of the feet as the important symptom in this case? Your msg was
not clear on this?
I could not follow your thinking process.

Please also define CONGESTION and describe its physiological signs so that
the point is clear.

Hello, Thank you for your e-mail.

I earnestly apologise for the mistake. Instead of "So, we turn to p.93..."
please read it as "So, we turn to p.935..
There you find the following:
EXTREMITIES--BLOOD,...rush of, to lower limbs: Aur., calc., elaps., sinc.

First of all, you must understand that in homeopathy we consider that IT IS
ONLY EXCESS (of vitamins et.) that cause disease and there is no such thing
as DEFICIENCY DISEASE. The system is not able to absorb calcium from the
food. Two children take one and the same food; one child has no calcium
deficiency whereas another child does not have it.
When more than one symptom is in a part (in the case cited by me, swelling,
corn, cramp etc.) we say that more energy gets stagnated in that part.
Therefore, instead of looking the symptom individually, such as swelling,
corn, cramp etc. we use the symptom CONGESTION (meaning excess energy
stagnated).

Again, in most places in the repertory the word CONGESTION means 'congestion
of blood' which carries energy (oxygen, food etc.) to various parts of the
body. Rush of blood (or, excess of energy )in a place may cause many
disease. 'Deficiency' would only mean death. Homeopathy does not recognise
or approve 'deficiency of vitamins' etc. This is another aspect of
homeopathy which no one wants to learn. Please visit my websites:

Thank you

Hi Dr. Krishnamoorthy,

Could you explain a couple of things?

You wrote:
I've never heard this said before. Can you tell me where Hahnemann or any
other homeopath has made this statement? I don't understand how this could
be so. Taking an extreme example, if a person does not eat, he starves;
this (starvation) is certainly a "deficiency disease".

If a person eats (let's say exclusively) e.g. refined, white rice, which is
devoid of B vitamins, he *will* develop defiency disease. If defiency
diseases are no problem, then white bread and candy should keep us quite
healthy, wouldn't they?
To some extent that is true -- if the food is reasonably adequate. But if
the children's diets are *devoid* of calcium, then they *will* both have
calcium defiency. If you believe otherwise, can you explain?

Thank you,
Shannon
