The way I understand it is that the 'cause' of any miasm is some kind of the
contagion.

The miasm is established, when this infection is not cured correctly by
homoeopathy and it is then able to go from one generation to another.
Once established, then becomes what Hn refers to in Aph 3 of Organon as
"obstacles to recovery".

A miasm must be regarded as an 'obstacles to recovery' when it really is
just that. That is to say that indicated remedies do not hold for long.

Yes. Miasm is a contagious infectious disease. But according to HMN's CD your 2nd parg. is not right. Syphilis is a miasm when it apeared by a chancre. If chancre supressed by any means it is also a miasm. Suppression is not a part of definition of a miasm.
