Interesting to hear about big doses.

When I was a student I sat in with a homeopath who often gave a whole bag
full of tablets to be taken at once! He took very short cases - 15 minutes - gave
huge doses of IIRC usually 30 or 200 potencies, and got good results. To us
homeopaths this may sound crude, but not unscientific - a scientist would
expect more pills to have a bigger effect. It sounds a bit allopathic perhaps,
perhaps that's why I have not tried it.

Once again it is good to hear peoples practical experience.

At some level of extreme, a larger dose will have a "stronger effect" in
that *if* it is homeopathically indicated -- a good remedy choice -- and
*if* the patient's sensitivity allows it, then that larger dose is more
likely to produce aggravation; it will not, however, make the remedy work
any better in the end. I assume the "whole bag" he gave was a small one, as
it wouldn't make economic sense to give them away like candy...

Many folks have stories about e.g. a toddler eating an entire bottle of
pills -- or several bottles! -- and having no ill effect. But a sensitive
patient who takes an entire bottle *of a well-indicated remedy* quite likely
would have an aggravation. Not everyone considers aggravations (within
reason) to be a problem, and so long as it isn't extreme, it won't lessen
the ultimate good effect of the remedy -- just a discomfort that isn't
really necessary.

So I would have to say that his good results came from good prescribing --
and more power to him for being able to do it quickly! -- not because of his
unnecesarily large doses. What do you think -- does that make sense to you?
