veterinary help please

for all you vets on the list--and others with animal experience-
my female cat is suffering from some intestinal/bowel problem which
has manifested itself this morning in inability to defecate and bloody
liquid discharge. any advice/insight will be most appreciated. here is her case.
13 yr old muted calico female cat
has been 'crying' lately (deep, gutteral sounding yowl)
eating on and off again, but this is not news for her
she changes taste with frequency and refuses to eat certain
foods, but will always eat shrimp or chicken from the chinese restaurant
or likes to lick my bowls of soup or vegetables after i have eaten
this morning she is licking her anus a lot and walking funny
i am seeing her trying to defecate without success.
some liqid leaks from the anus
it is watery and red.
she is doing this on the couch, the floor, wherever.
she keeps returning the the litter box and has been outside
twice in the past hour (unusual for her).
i saved a very red, gelatinous bit of discharge which she dropped on
the floor for possible lab analysis, but mostly i am seeing drops of
clear liquid which may be tinged with red.
History:
she suffers from arthritis which affects her rear left hip joint primarily
merc 30c in water has been keeping it under control for about a year now.
i give it to her fairly regularly with periodic breaks. the arthritis always
begins to return after about a week of not having the rx.
her personality is very sweet. she loves to be near me and doesn't hold
grudges with i leave her (as another cat of mine used to do). she loves
warmth, sitting in a sunny window or directly in front of a heater or behind
the wood stove. she actually cries for the heater to be turned on. she will
sleep on me if i am lying on the couch but will lie next to me if i am in bed.
this heat seeking behavior seems to be relatively new in the past year--i
dont recall such craving for heat in previous years.
she loves to come into my room if i am exercising and will lie down on the
floor next to me and roll over with me as i do my stretches. i am reminded
of the book "Dancing with Cats" which describes the author's experience in
teaching cats to dance with her. so besides the desire for warmth, she is
also loving company and will follow me around incessantly. she will also
demand that i sit down with her on the couch or go upstairs to lie down on the
floor with her.
i would call her very demanding. she will yell at me when i feed her because
it is not happening fast enough. altho, this trait has diminished since she has
been treated with homeopathy. she used get virtually hysterical. another
change in her since homeopathic treatment is compliance in taking
remedies. it used to require 2 people to hold her in order to administer a rx. now
i can simply tilt her head back and drop the liquid into her mouth. she is almost
actively cooperative. and a third trait that has changed since treatment was a
great anxiety/fear/paranoia about going around people through the door to go outdoors.
She would run in a great circle away from the door and the person and come around
from the other side before she would charge through the door--almost as if she was
running a gauntlet. this behavior is diminished greatly.

she had a rodent ulcer on her lips for several years which i didnt treat until it began to
spread and seriously affect her ability to eat. she was given nitric ac then and later
conium which helped agreat deal. her 'paranoic' behavior diminished then and the
ulcer healed about 85%. a few years later when another cat passed, this kitty went
into a state of grief, developing a slew of sx including behaviorial changes. she was
treated with nat m which completed the healing of the wound on her lips from the ulcer
as well as almost all the other sx. she began to show signs of arthritis shortly after
that and has been getting merc c on and off since then.
