Combination remedies (was homeotoxicology)

Dear Anna,
Combination remedies (mixtures) are used by many doctors and they claim that they work. I agree but let's see what they mean by "it works". Mixtures have an effect on the sick person and when we use them, e.g. for diarrhea, the diarrhea stops and then we say that the mixture has worked. BUT, a classical homeopath does not evaluate his prescription solely on this indication. We know that wrong remedy can SUPPRESS the disease. So to evaluate the action of the remedy, we have to check for this important issue. Herring's laws (and recently Vijayakar's chart) help us evaluate this. I have never used mixtures myself but it seems to me that mixing ten remedies will in most cases lead to suppression. We have seen that when we choose our single remedies with care (we think so), sometimes we are not successful and sometimes obviously we suppress the problem. Let alone when we mix many remedies without considering the modalities, mentals, and other aspects of the sick person. I mean using
mixtures for specific diseases is not consistent with the holistic approach and it is mostly a tool used by reductionists.
To summarize, reasons for not using the mixtures are:
1- We have not proved them. Prescribing them is a kind of guess-work.
2- There are no remedy relationship charts for them. It will be difficult to continue the treatment without knowing these relationships. I repeat, it is difficult not impossible.
3- Using mixtures is consistent with the reductionism, not holism. Therefore, most probably using combination remedies will result in suppression of the disease.
Sincerely,
Feras

Sorry, again I wrote Herring instead of Hering! Really sorry.
