Digest Number 1411

Post by Theresa Partington »

Dear Ana et al.
The relevant page of the Lutze organon was reprinted in Homeopathy in
Practice (April 2003) together with the transaltion published in Bradford's
Life and Letters, which was published in 1895. According to Bradford's
transaltion a double remedy could be perfectly homeopathic in chronic cases
( addressing different 'sides')just as Cuprum and Veratrum might be called
for in alternation in a case of cholera. It seems the word 'double' is used
in describing the chronic application but H. drew a straight parallel with
an acute prescribing style that was very definitely 'alternation'.
What is also to the point is that Hahnemann himself, Boenninghausen and
Aegidi all appeared to have back tracked from this line of thought and Lutze
was the only one to keep going with it. HIP also published an article by
Loiis Hoffer (November 2001) where she went into this in some depth but she
herself didn't have access to an original Lutze ( at least I believe this
was so) but just to the transaltaion. Our contributor Colin Lessell tracked
one down in Stockholm, of all places, and that is how we got it..
