Dear Julian, Dear List,
True. Names must be respected. So must persons be. If one cannot show
respect for living persons who meet on this list, of what importance
is the respect for the dead ? There are some manners
1. When you bump into a thread, show respect to the previous writer
by addressing him/her by name.(Strangely, I am yet to see an abrupt
bumper leave without giving his name/intial at the foot of message!)

2.Keep all admonitions private ! To see people like Dana Ullman
castigated in public makes painful reading.

3.Never interrupt well intentioned threads with silly objections!

4. Spelling mistakes are natural for someone who works online and
conscious of the connection time (for dialup customers) and who
writes in between consulting hours. Go soft on this. Corrections be
kept private!

This is a well intentioned one. Give it a thought.

Give me a break!

The name Hering is one that MANY people on this list use, and a
misspelling of it should be corrected on the list.
There are many spelling errors I see on this list that are appalling
mistakes, and I say nothing.
A proper name, especially one as well-known as Hering, deserves to be
spelled right.

Hmmm! you took the entire blame on yourself ? Well, you think so ? I meant
it for others too.

You have shown that you are the same again with your reply. Go thru your
mail again.
If you have doubts over what I wrote previously, go thru all your postings
in this group. I do
admire you for all your thoughtful contributions to this list of which I am
a beneficiary. But
I expect the sharing of info here on an even basis. This is not a nursery
class.

I will continue to read all postings on tis website for own benefit. Yours
too. If you tell every
other whom you pricked one way or the other not to read your replies, soon
you will find none.

Hi Venkat,

A big part of the reason that Julian has made the marvellous contributions
he has, both on the list and in his other work, *is* because of his care for
and attention to detail. I do not think anything at all disrespectful was
said...

please , please , please when you're "replying to" the list please delete all the digest email that gets copied into the body of your message. just quote the relevant sentences & subject that you are commenting on. It makes for such long long long unnecessary downloading and so boring to scroll through pages and pages of irrelevant material.
