I was wondering if anyone has ever treated anyone with Chiari malformation? What was your results?

Chiari malformation is an uncommon congenital anomaly in
which the lower part of the cerebellum protrudes down into the
spinal canal, causing tissue compression and hindering normal
spinal fluid flow. Although there is a form of Chiari (pronounced
kee-ar'-ee) malformation that occurs in children, the Chiari I
malformation usually causes problems in adults. The Chiari I
malformation occurs slightly more often in women than in men.
The exact cause of the Chiari malformation is unknown. It has
been suggested that the malformation occurs during early embryo
development of the brainstem and spinal cord. An abnormally
small posterior fossa results in the brainstem or tonsils being
pushed downward through the opening at the bottom of the skull.
Persons with Chiari malformation who previously were
asymptomatic may begin to experience symptoms as they grow
older. Symptoms may include headache, dizziness, double vision,
unusual eye movements, pain or numbness in the face or
extremities, or ringing in the ears.
When being evaluated for Chiari I malformation, it is important for
the patient to have a thorough neurologic examination. The test of
choice used to diagnose the Chiari I malformation is magnetic
resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain and brainstem.

Dear Mrs. Ruby, I am in the business for 24 years by now and studied 3 times
: allopathy, homeopathy and chinese medicine. I have seen so many and
different patients in my life so far, that I could write at ease several big books.
Besides, I am a doctor in third generation and I come from a very high
positioned doctors family in which one may find everything he wants : cardiologists,
internists, neurologists, ophtalmologists, pharmacists, general practitioners,
you name it.
I never saw this disease in practice but learned about it only from books, as
medical history, so to speak.
I very much doubt that anything can be done for these people no matter what
medical approach is selected.
There is another Chiari Syndrom - Budd-Chiari - which is a different story.
This should be treated only allopathically, because the diagnosis itself can
not be set but in hospital and the disese is life-threatening.
Meeting a Chiari syndrome in all-day practice would be similar to winning the
jackpot in Germany with REALISTIC chances standing at about 1/12 million or
so. I do hope You understand what I mean. Otherwise I wish You much succes.
