There are various guidelines that can give clues; and of course a healthy
person has a *lot* of leeway -- as a species we are omnivores, and
individual variation proceeds from there!
This is not mysterious... Major deficiency symptoms of the major nutrients
have been known for decades, and there is also a *LOT* of information
available about deficiency symptoms of lesser nutrients, and more "subtle"
presentations. Also, if the person is taking something that is actually
helping them (whether herb, food, specific nutrients, whatever), they will
be able to see what effect it produces; nothing mysterious here. IMO if you
don't know whether something (diet, supplement, etc.) is helping you, you
probably ought to stop taking it! (Some take a longer time to show their
effect; that information also is readily available.)
It seems you are assuming that because *you* don't have this information, no
one does, but that's not the case. Specific details (*if* they are
necessary, which usually they aren't) might need to be arrived at either by
trial-and-error (try this and see if you feel better) or by lab tests
(allergy testing, etc.). In other cases there are "educated guesses" that
will come easily and with a great deal of reliability, from not a whole lot
of sophisticated training.

So you are aware that sometimes diet matters -- to your "feel best", if not
to your migraines; for other people, it matters to the migraine too, or to
other symptoms.
Well.... But sometimes that ("doing anything and everything...") works.
Sometimes it's the best available if homeoapthy is *not* available -- or if
homeopathy is not working.

Personally, I have a daughter who for many years was *not* helped by
homeopathy (or not much). I have also had a several-year hiatus in my own
progress under homeopathy. For her and for me, this information that you
are being so dismissive of has been... well, er, um... valuable. Very
valuable. Am I embarrassed to be using "other modalities"? Heck no!!! I
would be embarrassed *not* to, under the circumstances.

I think it's easy to be dismissive of other people's problems, and of
"solutions" that one hasn't personally found useful. However... Well, my
experience differs from yours on that count, and I think it's better if you
aren't dismissive about things that you aren't very informed on. I know you
are an RN, but as you know, that has no bearing on these topics, no more
than it does on your qualifications for homeopathy. You've been trained in
homeopathy, but evidently you haven't been trained in these other areas.
That's okay, but you shouldn't assume that *no one* has that training.

Yes homeopathy is a better answer -- when and if it *IS* an answer. If it's
not an answer, one has to do something else, IMO. I won't put my daughter's
life on hold for a theory, in hope that "maybe tomorrow" someone will figure
out her remedy. And I wouldn't ask that of any client, either.

Yup, me too, and it is still the place I look for cure, not to "pills and
potions". But I'm a believer in using the tools that are available, and I
have a real respect for "what works", for human ingenuity, for the ability
of an organism to heal in many ways. I don't think it's appropriate to
disparage other folks' experience, tho I certainly appreciate the fact that
*for you* none of this has been necessary -- your good fortune!

Mm, we can't figure out *all* of anything.
Can't figure out *every* needed remedy, can't help *every* patient.
But can we often figure out enough of it (remedies, diet, causation,
toxicity, deficiencies) to do the job? Yup.

Cheers,
Shannon
