Amphetamines, in general, can cause itching without rash, along w/ a host of
other potentially very serious side effects. Asking for, and receiving a
drug of this nature is a frightening testament to an increasingly "designer
drug" oriented society. These are not innocuous medications or "brain candy",
they are dangerous, can cause psychotic episodes, permanent brain damage/tics/
tourette's/ et.al, and death. Your psychiatrist should lose his license for
finding a reason to script a psychoactive drug to a normal child.
Please buy a copy of Peter Breggins' book "Talking Back to Ritalin".
Meanwhile, here are a few links to get you started. Also, you can get some great
information by going to kartoo.com, and typing in Adderall AND adverse
effects. Other links can be found under Amphetamines and Adverse Effects. Good
luck with your son.
