you have not answered my question. i dont need the link to yahoo messenger.
i need to know what to do when i get there!

Dear Tanya, once you have the yahoo messenger set up you need to add the
'contacts' to it - in this case I assume the contact is the same as before =
ssoindia, then you need to have the messenger up and running and make
yourself available and then the sender will invite you to take part.

thank you all for trying to help me with this problem.
i am just all left thumbs, mentally, trying to figure this out.
i will have to give it rest for the day and try again tomorrow.

I never got any sound either, in any of the clinics I 'sat in on' but I
think they know about this - all communication is necessary through typed
text (part of the messenger process).

This sort of technology is in its apparent infancy until you try the Mac
versions of isight and ichat (hint hint )

I sat in on a clinic yesterday, and had sound and visual, and was able to talk and be spoken to - and I was winging it at the time.
There is an audio wizard that will check your capabilites for this and diagnose problems if there are some.
In the messanger window, go to help, then click on audio wizard - see if this helps.
If I can help anyone I will give it a try

The visual was not very clear, but I could make out Dr. Naval Kumar and his patient, and hear him most of the time.
It was a rather interesting experience.
