When would one use these rubrics:

FEVER, HEAT; ABSENT
The punctuation makes it seem to be *not* fever without heat (which I
would take to mean that the pt feels fevered and shows fever on thermometer,
but is not warm to the touch???), but absence of fever (which I believe is
also called "heat"), in a situation where one would expect to see fever?

GENERALITIES; RELAPSE of complaints
My two kids and I have *all* just (barely/almost) recovered from one
bout of something-or-other (not all the same sxs), and are now -- again all
at the same time! -- going down with what appears to be the same thing
again. Is that reason enough to include the rubric, or is that pushing it?
Also, could someone explain what's the same/different about when to use
these:

Heat, lack of vital;
Chill
Coldness, internal (is that meant more for local coldness?)

Is the first the one to use for someone who just "runs cold" chronically, in
general?

Is the second the one to use for the chill that can accompany acute illness
(which may or may not be accompanied by fever)?

Dear Shannon, the first answer is a fever without heat (there are many types
of fevers); the second = what you suggest would be acceptable; third = yes,
fourth = yes, but it doesn't have to be an acute, you can get chronic cases
that are dominated by a chill factor; fifth = not local really, this can
relate to an emotional coldness, a general feeling of coldness like Heat,
lack of vital, the external surface might be warm or hot but the internal is
cold etc.

If in doubt about any rubric the best suggestion I can make is to have a
look at some of the remedies in that rubric - they will describe the essence
of the rubric for you and this helps you get a really good idea about such
things.
