Resources for children

Does anyone have suggestions of resources (kinesthetic) for children, both
for assisting with explaining homeopathy (where for example there is fear or
mistrust of professionals), and for use in clinic where there is potential
for extreme or over the top behaviour.
Look forward to hearing what you have found useful in your own practices.
Thanks

I always have a variety of toys, paper and felt tip pens for children. As for mistrust the worst I have had are little ones who refuse to take the rx so I tell mum to pop it in when they are asleep at night!! I have stickers for the kids (Society of Homeopaths Trading). I will talk to kids firstly about school, what they like, their best friend and hobbies. Get them talking to you if you can. Chuck the parent out of the room if they are reticent of speaking to you in front of the parents as in teenagers.

I read 'somewhere' that it is not advisable to treat a child with a headache
going into sleep. Does anyone know what might be behind this?

Hm, I never heard nor thought of that, but I suppose this means, if a child
has a headache, don't give them a remedy as they are going off to sleep, and
I suppose the concern is that, if the cause of the headache is something
serious (e.g. meningitis) and the remedy doesn't work but you don't have
their waking feedback to guide you, and they pass into coma during or
instead of normal sleep???? Might this be it?

Hi Rochelle,
Stickers is a useful addition, thanks for that suggestion. I'm thinking of
particularly disturbed children rather than the average child client.

whenever the weather allows get the child outdoors and they will blossom and
you can get a better picture of their potential ...I assist at my dd's
school from time to time and find that with a child who has autistic
spectrum disorder that outside of the restraints of four walls he really
shines and reveals who he is and can be .. hth love Fiona x..
