[H] Remedies for Malaria

I have a client traveling to South Africa who is concerned about malaria.
Any prevention suggestions? Any recommendations from list members as to
what kind of travel kit would be useful?

My son and I have both used the herb Spilanthes (1/2 dropperful, 3 times a
day) with great results. It seems to make mosquitos avoid you (and I'm
usually a magnet for them!).

Alternatively, Nat-sulph. 200c, once a week, starting three weeks prior to
travel and continuing during and three weeks after. I've had no personal
experience with this, but know numerous people who've used it successfully.

Peace,
Cinnabar

Hi Lynn,

I have a malaria-preventative which is "homeopathic based". They need to
start 2 days before entering the malaria area and they continue until 5 days
after exit. Some of the other health shops/pharmacies have there own
formulas. Nothings 100% guaranteed, but in 10 years of use I have had only
1 reported case of failure, from a guy who was away 3 months and stopped
using it daily after 1 month. He started getting lax and used it when he
felt like it. The rest of the group were fine, so its really patient
non-compliance. I have had someone use it for 8 months in East Timor with
no side effects. I generally encourage feedback from users.

Conventional medicine doesn't have a good track record, with several people
still getting malaria, but what's worrying is when they end up with cerebral
malaria. This is because the malaria is suppressed and only manifests at
the more serious stage.

Interestingly, the guy who got Malaria got normal symptoms of Malaria
(fever, malaise, sweats) , got diagnosed, put on quinine (and back on the
formula) and was fine. There was no suppression of symptoms, unlike
conventional medicines.

To order they would need to contact me. Best if they email me to set up
when they are coming and where they will be.

(As a PS to Rae, the guy in East Timor also didn't get Dengue, and the
formula contains remedies which could have prevented that as well, although
that wasn't the original intention. I would need further feedback to say
whether it was OK for Dengue. But there is no dengue in SA.)
