Re. Repertory books don't forget Guide to Kent's Repertory by Ahmed N.
Currim. It is in fact a Guide to any repertory(Kent,Synthesis,Complete) and
is the product of many years of detailed painstaking work. Currim studied
under Pierre Schmidt student of Eugene Alonzo Austin and Frederica Gladwin
(both among Kent's best students) and the Guide incorporates much of
Schmidt's teaching. This book helps novices and advanced students alike to
understand Kent's intricate but consistent arrangement of symptoms as
rubrics. It explains clearly the 6 modifications of a symptom and
modifications of the modifications as 1. Side; 2.Time; 3.Cicumstances;
4.Extending to; 5. Part; 6. Sensations. Each of these are modified again in
the same way. The rubrics are best illustrated by using the pain rubrics.
There are chapters on case taking; case analysis ( as taught by Schmidt);
Cross References; and excellent diagrams that explain the anatomy of the
various parts as well as the anatomy of the rubrics and subrubrics. Many
sources of errors and how they appeared are explained.Kent's personal notes
and important articles regarding how he constructed the book appear in the
appendix and are taken from The Homeopathician, Kent's journal and from
articles rarely seen. If the reader uses a Kent repertory and patiently goes
through the first 40 pages he will be well on his way to knowing all the
byways of this great and indispesable tool. (He can then easily find his way
in any other repertory as the Guide will be his road map) It will be as if
Kent himself is teachig in his classroom. Currim leads the reader to the
very page and column of the symptom. The Introduction is a powerful and
beautiful poem of Similia written by one of Kent's students. Once you work
with this guide your view of the repertory will become crystal clear. The
book is available with Minimum Price and with the author
