I will certainly consider Rhus Tox if I feel I need to prescribe again but at the moment I am letting things ride and giving him verbal encouragement!! The fact that the ankle swelling is receding and the eczema going down the body is what is making me hope that the Rx is still acting. I will keep you all informed.

Dear Rochelle, it is often the anxiety in Rhus tox that drives the
restlessness - that and profound sadness and despondency as well as extreme
fears - fears of being poisoned, delusions he is about to die, that someone
calls to him at night (there are so many). There is also delirium (which
this case has/had I seem to remember), all usually worse at night.
There is also oedema, can be anywhere, but often the eyes, face, legs,
ankles, genitals (well that is almost everywhere!). I had a rhus case where
the person could hardly walk because of the oedema. Surely I don't need to
mention the skin sx but.. can be dry, hot and itching as well as vesicular,
pemphigus, herpetic, cellulitis, burning eczema with scaly formation,
crusty, urticaria - you name it (what MM would you be reading to suggest
otherwise?).
But I personally wouldn't be repeating the dose or changing potency (or
remedy) if you feel the Arsenicum has acted. Be patient and wait a while.
This person has reacted quite badly to high potencies before, this should be
enough of an indication to stay lower - keep it individual.
