Yes, the best thing is to take the complete case but during acute crisis you
may have to choose a remedy which covers the characteristics of this acute
crisis.

Remedies which are commonly indicated in cases of colics with renal calculi
are --- belladona, berberis vulgaris, dioscorea, cantharis, lycopodium, nux
vomica, ocimum, pareira, sarsaparilla and tabacum.
With regards,
Waqar Taji

I have decided not to stay a quite listener and would like to contribute to Dr Taji's email.

To physically break the kidney stones if you use the remedy Hydrangia Arbor in 30c bd you will find it works miracles.

Hi Atiq,

So the diagnosis and/or any symptoms of pain are sufficient prescribing
indication for this to be effective? Here's the tiny little bit I find on
it, just for interest.

Thanks!
Shannon

If someone is suffering from Kidney Stones, then irrespective of constitution and other tagged symtoms, the below remedy will work.

Think of the remedy as a little worker. This little worker is programmed to break up Kidney Stones. That's all it will do for the problem in question.

Of course one can (and should) prescribe alongside it, but I am not sure how many classical homeopaths we have on this mailing list, so do not want to cause any distress by elaborating.

Ach Atiq, don't tease! (smile)
Of course we have lots of classicals on the list (most of us, I think?), but
many (most?) of us are also interested in hearing "supplementary" thoughts,
which we will then use or discard, approve or disapprove, understand or not,
according to our own context, ability, willingness, etc.

May I also say that a kidney stone is an *acute* situation (tho of course
the tendency to form them is based on the chronic, which should afterwards
be treated, if possible). So there are not the same issues with this as
there might be with some other issues.

So, if causing us distress were not a factor, would you be saying, "And
afterwards take the chronic case", or would you be listing other "kidney
remedy(s)" to be given with or after, or ??

Best,
Shannon

You've cheered me up today. Thanks.

Hydrangea works very well in this situation.

I would give Hydrangea and Berberis Vulgaris 30c tds for 10 days. If necessary one would prescribe Dioscorea seperately once daily.

Then I would assess the patient and see the response. If during the 10 days the patient was in pain (aggravation) the remedy would be stopped for 1 day so that the body uses up any surplus. Then on day two start again once daily only either at 11am or last thing at night.

From there......................well think of it as a sinewave - ups and downs. So according to the patients response I would respond accordingly.
