Re: messages, attachments, files, photos and links

FYI - Saw this posted on another Yahoo Group where I am a member. Know nothing more than what this states; how legit it may be. However, Minutus is mentioned….

Copied message >>>>
I have been hearing from a lot of people that are concerned that all their
conversations are about to be lost when Yahoo Groups deletes the archives on
December 14.
I therefore started the Health-Related YahooGroup Archive in order to
preserve the archives of important alt-health related groups. We have
therefore digitally archived more than 66 top health-related Yahoo Groups
complete with attachments, files, photos and links. The catalog includes
groups dedicated to Alternative Medicine, Autism, Beck, Cancer, Chelation,
Clark, Crystal Healing, Dental, Enzymes, Eyesight, Herbalism, Holistic
Health, Hypothyroidism, Lyme disease, Magnetic Therapy, Mercury, Microscopy,
Minutus, Natural Thyroid Therapy, Nutrition, Ozone Therapy, Rife therapy,
Veganism and more.
The archive contains all available messages, attachments, files, photos and
links on an easy to use software program that is designed for Yahoo Groups
and very fast. See the video on the home page and the website itself for
more details.
https://groups.rifeforum.com
The website also tells you where the groups are moving to and makes
suggestions where you can alternatively continue your discussions. If our
details on your group are not up to date, please reply to this message with
corrections.
Yahoo Groups are in the process of purging their archives and you will lose
all the archives of your group on December 14. I have therefore made a
digital archive of this group that you can download to use on any Windows
computer.
https://groups.rifeforum.com/lyme_rife.php
The Windows based archive is easy to use and is in fact better and much
faster to use when looking at past messages. It is also possible to use the
archive I downloaded to upload your group's messages to your new group on
groups.io although that does incur some charges and the software to do that
is not ready yet.
I run the Rife and the Rifeforum Yahoo Groups (now both on groups.io ) as
well as www.rifeforum.com > . I am an expert on
groups and forums and have compiled some advice for group owners wishing to
migrate their groups
https://groups.rifeforum.com/for-group-owners.php
It is no longer possible to migrate groups to groups.io as they have now
closed their migration tool.
There is a Plan B for transferring your messages and I can help with that.
It makes use of the archive I have already made of your group for use on a
Windows PC. It is possible to upload that to groups.io if you want to do
that. Of course, your members can also simply download the archive from my
website and use it individually at home. It is a great way to read the
previous messages, but it is of course preferable to have the messages still
in your group. https://groups.rifeforum.com/transfer
Anyway, have a good look at the advice and infos on my website and let me
know if you need further assistance. Please understand that I am very busy
at the moment helping a lot of groups save their archives, especially now
that groups.io have stopped their transfer service.
If you have any questions, please look at https://groups.rifeforum.com
first, where most questions have already been answered.
In the meantime, I highly recommend obtaining the archive of your group (and
others) at https://groups.rifeforum.com including the Windows software. The
small one-time service charge per download is what helps to fund the archive
and my ability to help you guys move to a better place.

If owner(s) of this group are already aware and have followed up on what this is about, my apologies for posting. I’ve not seen it mentioned in the discussions of how to save past info that has been shared in Minutus. Perhaps may be worthwhile checking out for at least a temporary solution.

Hi Diane,

I posted a version of that message to your group as well, but obviously it did not get past the moderators. In fact, I wrote a special version for your group, because I was concerned with the inaction on your group. This is what I said specifically for Minutus:
“I have been reading your recent messages on trying to port your group and decided to offer my help. I have already archived your group for use on Windows, so no need to panic. You are too late for an automated transfer of your group to groups.io – they are no longer accepting transfer requests.
Luckily, there is a plan B and that is where I can help. Details can be found below. I have been doing nothing else but archiving groups like yours and providing assistance to a lot of groups in the past two months to ensure things run smoothly. So, if you need my help preserving your archives, let me know. What is needed to manually port your group is a full list of your members – your moderator can do that. Instructions here: https://groups.rifeforum.com/transfer
My concern was only to offer assistance. I hope this post is let through.

Regards

Peter Walker

Thank you for your work, Peter! The first post did go through and I have ordered Minutus archives on https://groups.rifeforum.com/ and currently am awaiting e-mail with a link to the archives in case this group is just lost due to inactivity of the moderator who admitted to being busy/not technically inclined, yet did not offer (at least I have not seen the offer) for somebody else to take over and move this group to its own section on the Rife Forum.

May this gets in just before the deadline ;-)
I may have missed this, so where is this info?

"the moderator who admitted to being busy/not technically inclined"

Am I wrong? I remember Soroush wrote that he is not a techie. Did he offer you or someone else to take over and to move the archives? I do remember people being upset over their posts ending up in "private" possession. Boohoo.

Soroush asked for technical hand holding on moving the files.

It seemed to me Debra would be the one to do this as she seems to have such skills.

I suggest she and Soroush work out how to move our files so everyone remains in the group.

One group set up another group online but only 3 of their people actually tried to sign up.

And that is my fear with doing something that asks all our members to sign up for a new

group on some platform or program.

Hi Diane, thank you for sharing this! Has anybody tried it? If I can find my old Windows computer, I will try it.

Sadly and frustratingly, I posted several offers of assistance to Soroush to reset access to the Files (and anything else that needs Management privileges) and received no replies.

When Soroush is ready to help out here, I am willing to assist, as requested. Deb
Soroush asked for technical hand holding on moving the files.

Thanx Debra

It is very frustrating and disappointing as we have been going round on this issue for several weeks trying to gain
focus on a solution. Bob's post was interesting but have no idea how to access Yahoo as they will not accept my information
and keep wanting me to sign up for paid services of some sort.

Peter

Your messages have not been coming thru for some reason and I don't think it is the moderator. Others have complained about posts

not working, too. So your frustration duly noted and appreciated, let's see what we can do to move us forward.
Some people on Minutus say they have successfully copied all our files. I assume this does not include anything from the past fews days or this

month--they can weigh in on what they have saved.

My question to you is whether you can upload those saved files onto Io if Yahoo has deleted them?

I would say we go forward with your $50 fee. Can you accept Paypal? People can then send in some money to you.

I encourage people to agree to this as, again, we are pretty much out of time.
Peter, can I send this post of yours to other homeopathy groups in the UK?
