Dear Rochelle,
Yes, I did understand that you were referring to tissue salts as opposed to
homoeopathic remedies. But the principle is the same: if you give two of
anything you will never be sure which one "worked" or "did the job".
Actually the tissue salts you chose were good choices, except that I would
have added Siliica. I have treated a few people with osteoporosis and got
very good results with those.
Let's say the patient had received the two homoeopathic remedies originally
suggested, and then recieved on top of those the two tissue salts you
suggested.... as the tissue salts are well capable of treating the problem,
you then have a situation where FOUR remedies have been given and nobody
knows which ones did the job. But in practice, that should not be a problem:
the patient goes away happy and that is what concerns us, or should.
Re treating the totality of the individual, tissue salts are in no way
inferior to homoeopathic remedies. If someone is lacking in a particular
mineral, this will be reflected across the board in a multitude of symptoms,
i.e they are not merely organ specific (not that it would be a problem if
they were!). Ergo, if you restore that balance, you are undermining these
many problems and treating the individual. Where homoeopathic remedies are
really able to flex their muscles compared to tissue salts is that they are
capable of far more than simply strengthening the constitution, they are
able to remove the actual disease. This is what Hahnemann was trying to tell
us in his works, and it is very frustrating that almost the entire
homoeopathic community has managed to water this down to the "boosting of
the vital force". That is only a small part of what homoeopathy can do!
Re your colleague who claims that prolonged tissue salt use can cause a
tumour to grow: this is frankly not only nonsense but highly dangerous and,
if I may say, stupid. I have worked in India with several doctors who used
tissue salts long-term and there are no reports of anything like this
happening. Tissue salts have been around a very long time. Theoretically,
there is no credibility or basis for this claim. I myself have been using
tissue salts for years... no tumours yet, I am happy to report.
Regards,
George
