Dear Rosemary, yes Opium might well cover their drugged state as they are at
present and might go further as well.

Opium also has - rolling on the floor during delirium, delusions sees
scorpions (small ants?), witty and plays antics (the mimicry?), the
clairvoyence of seeing and understanding the plight of others, cowardly and
timidity, delusion is away from home (reality), desires to go home, attempts
to escape or run away (which is what they have done in a way, rage with
convulsions - just some of the aspects that fit the cases.

Will there be any co-operation in withdrawing the allopathic medication over
a period of time? I hope so. Then a clearer picture will emerge.

Re the twins and allopathic meds. The mother has, on her own, reduced the doses gradually to about half the original values, without any serious problems. She's afraid to go further at this point. However, they have also worked hard to become patients of a doctor within the clinic who is more sympathetic to their situation and easier to communicate with, so hopefully, this process can continue. It's an important issue, and we've discussed it with the family several times.

I find it fascinating that our group are not the only ones having trouble keeping the twins separate in the mind. As I read the wonderful responses that people are sending, which are extremely helpful and much appreciated, I keep getting the same feeling as when I was trying to analyze the two cases. It's similar to the feeling one gets when looking at one of those trick pictures that, depending on where you focus, produces one interpretation or another in the brain -- the young woman or the old one, for instance. Twin A and twin M keep morphing suddenly into one another through this whole correspondance. It's one of the big challenges in solving the case.

Andy's Germanium presentation was fascinating, and the first case especially has a lot of resonance with both twins.

I'll certainly keep you posted as to what we finally decide to do and what happens.
