Hi, all.

I have a couple of questions that I'd love some advice on.

First, his constitution seems quite different from that of his mother, whom I'm also treating, but she's still nursing him, and plans to yet for a year or so (good for her!). I know that whatever remedy she takes, he will also get. I started with Carcinosin, since they both really resonated with that remedy. She is branching off toward Phos. He has simply gotten much better with the Carc. My question is how people go about giving a nursing mother a different remedy than what her baby requires.

Second question is what miasm/ remedy/ rubric would a slight congenital situation such as double nipples or a double set of teeth point to? I'm not finding the right words to lead to an answer in any of the reference sources I can find.

Dr S.K Bannergee(Miasmatic diagnosis)- Erratic, deranged teeth is
tubercular.
(My addition:This confirms with the mother's miasm of since phos is
tubercular.)
2. Under extremities in the same source there is this- anatomical
abnormalities like six fingers is sycosis.
(my addition: By analogy only we can arrive at this as sycotic.
There is also another given by old men- all excess growths are
sycotic. Dr Bannergee gives phos two stars for sycosis whereas three
for tubercular)

Dear Rosemary

Since I am a Lactation Consultant as well as a Homoeopath, I deal often with
mothers and babies who are still in the breastfeeding stage and generally
don't have a problem with prescribing for each as individuals; it's a
question of susceptibility.

Rarely, if the mother and baby both need the same Rx I give it to the mother
otherwise when it comes to prescribing I treat them as individuals and find
the remedies don't interact unless there's a close affinity or they are
inimical to one another.
In that case I manage the mother differently (perhaps with herbs ot diet)
and wait until the baby is in a clear space so that he won't be so
susceptible to her prescription.

Re your second question; sycosis comes to mind!
