Vaccination question

Assuming that either a child or an animal is going to be vaccinated against at least the diseases that are minimally required by law, I'm wondering if Thuja really covers all vaccination reactions, as some people have said, or if there are other ways of using homeopathy to prevent imprinting new miasms on the vaccination subject.

We have a new puppy who's going through the required "puppy shots" (distemper, parvo, bordatella...) and who will also have to be vaccinated against rabies before she can be taken anywhere involving other dogs. This is not medically necessary, of course, but regulations of airlines, hotels, kennels, groomers, and trainers universally require certification for these shots, no exceptions. Our vet/ animal homeopath said to give her Thuja after the last series of shots, and I would not say this was a particular success. The puppy was sick for several days and her temperament changed. We have two more required series to go through, which I'm dreading.

Also, our grandchild is due at the beginning of December, and my daughter and son-in-law will not defy the regulations and forego vaccinations. So what do people do in that case to help a child avoid vaccination damage to his/her vital force as much as possible?

I know Tinus Smits says to give potentized vaccines before and after the vaccination, which seems rather isopathic rather than homeopathic.

My basic question is whether all vaccines impose a sycotic miasm on the organism, and if not, does one deal with each series of shots individually according to symptoms, or are there some general measures one can take?

I took my cat to a homeopathic vet for a rabies vaccine. Just before the
shot she gave him lyssin 30c. She says it gives the animal some
protection. She also says she has never had a reaction to the rabies
vaccine using this approach. I know some homeopaths say you can't use
homeopathy as a preventative but others say you can. I bought lyssin and
now give it to the other cats myself.

I've been told that Thuja does not address all vaccine reactions; the
correct remedy would be the one that matches the symptoms of the reaction.

Hi Rosemary,

For the pup, can you prescribe on the basis of how she was ill, and how her
temperament has changed?

Most children (or animals) will not suffer ill effects from the shots,
especially if they are in good health to begin with. (IMO the issues have
to do not with expectation of harm in each case, but with unacceptable
risk/benefit ratio, lack of necessity, and misguided policies and reasoning
behind the practice.)

I'd think the best measure for your granddaughter, since you evidently can't
change her parents' minds, is to treat her constitutionally beforehand
(starting as much beforehand as practical, I would think), and notice
whether there are changes afterwards. Usually there will not be, so far as
I can see, but if there are, those should be treated in the usual way, upon
the basis of her individual picture the changes to it, and perhaps on a link
between this picture and her prior one.

Another possibility is give extra nutritional support before and after --
vitamin C for its general detoxification and immune support properties,
chlorella or other algae for its ability to detox heavy metals, and any
other nutrients that I suspected the child might be short on.

Best,
Shannon
