Minutus

Hi
There is a book called "Island" by Aldous Huxley that I have just taken out of the library. It is about a man who becomes stranded on a strange island. Here is some the book "blurb" in my words : "the people of this island use hypnosis, birth control, eugenics, and are open regarding their sex lives. Their children, from infancy are not subjected to one set of parents. There are drugs that affect their perception. They have trained their birds to say "attention, here and now ", so that they will remember to stay in the present. They have the goal of freeing each person, not enslaving them............Heightened consciousness is the goal, instead of "contented stupor."
