Very Syphilitic!
Third stage Syphilis symptom!
It is also used in a few parts of UK - esp near Liverpool. "Don't be soft
(in the head)" is expressed when someone says something silly / daft. I
guess around Liverpool they had lots of people with active Syph from which
they died.
I guess with the loss of the thinking organs one's thought would appear
muddled/confused and one would appear silly.
How the sins of our forefathers/mothers catches up!
